M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

In contemplation of the work '9 H-shapes' is clear that the experience of a form depends on the situation or position in which the shape is observed. This sensation was formulated by Morris as "a simple form does not necessarily coincide with a simple experience." In a varying insertion objects are affecting on the relationship between the object and the exhibition space. The 'corner' of Morris, for example, pulls wall and floor together and separates a small space located below our normal level from the exhibition space. Morris is interested in the contradiction between the form that is well-known (a cube from which a piece is removed) and the image that the eye perceives.
