"Untitled (Progression)" belongs to a series of wall sculptures which demonstrates that Judd sculptural space can not exist without "empty" space. According to Judd, positive and negative spaces relate closely to form the structure of a sculpture. Space and sculpture are inextricably linked. But not only the space within the sculpture plays a role, the relationship between the artwork and its environment is important. The measurements of the aluminum blocks in "Untitled (Progression)" is based on the Fibonacci series. In this series each number is formed by adding the previous two.
