"Fotopoemação" is a neologism created by Maiolino to describe some of her pieces: a hybrid of photography, poem and action.
One such action is the oft-reproduced Entrevidas (Between Lives) from 1981, a triptych depicting the bare soles of a woman’s feet while she is cautiously crossing a stretch of pavement on which hundreds of pale white eggs have been strewn – the embryonic “lives” referred to in the title.
Other works from the same "Fotopoemação" series: Por um fio and In-Out (Antropofagia).
