Naveau's ensemble Deaf Ted, Danoota (and me) was previously an eye-catcher in Luc Tuymans's exhibition Sanguine | Bloedrood, which was shown in the M HKA in the summer of 2018. The three busts seamlessly unite forms and iconography from the baroque with those of our contemporary society. Each image has its own story. The sculptures can be described as three-dimensional collages that want to be dissected layer by layer. In this set-up too, they ask the visitor to slow down and take the time to look for the many references.
