Something Stronger Than Skepticism superimposes a series of risographed images of newsprints conveying the reverberations of the Egyptian revolution of 1952 but also relating to the more recent uprisings in Egypt and the Arab world. Visually referencing a disposable test print, the work pulls together a series of reports from around the world into a single layered image that becomes a condensed document of global media reactions to the revolution. Something Stronger Than Skepticism is a portrait of a crucial moment in recent history where the question of possible and impossible futures remains unanswered.
