M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

Literary synopsis

Hannah is a restorer at the Rijksmuseum. It is her work to rid paintings of cloudy varnish to bring out the original colors and details. She accidentally encounters the work of a Frisian poet who has become blind. When she hears him reciting at a poetry festival, she knows she wants to meet this man. She feels a strong affinity with him, with the capacity he has to dig in his memory through forty years of darkness in order to get back to the light and the colours, the images from his childhood of the Frisian spring landscape in which Hannah also grew up. She decides to travel after him to the Wadden island, where he camps every summer, and meet with him. Through a series of intimate conversations, they explore the mechanisms of memory, imagination and the creative process.
