M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

AP7/07-02, 2002

Photography, 83 x 60 cm.

Collection: Collection M HKA, Antwerp (Inv. no. BK7285_M237).

In his work, Dirk Braeckman explores the possibilities of the photographic process. His instantly recognisable, claustrophobic pictures often exude a desolate despondency: grainy interiors, blank walls or a rare portrait of a naked woman. The unconventional frame enhances the filmic effect of AP7/07-02. Instead of illuminating something, the reflection of the light makes the work less readable. The image becomes an image of an image.
