Literary synopsis
Anna in Hollywood is Wittig’s surreal journey into the 1930s world of the Barvarian actress Anna Liszt, who in Volume 2 is conducting research for her role in Luis Buñuel’s film adaptation of As You Like It. Anna and her sister (also named Anna), protégé Gertrude Lloyd, and friend Larry become further acclimated to Hollywood in this tale of sex, murder, intrigue, and cross-dressing.
