M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

Collection: Collection M HKA, Antwerp (Inv. no. RV2_319 (BAC 624)).

Manufacturer: Bach Auricon Inc.

Typical news camera from the 1950s and ‘60s, only fading from the scene in the 1970s with the advent of the video camera. This Bach-Auricon could register both optical and magnetic sound, with the latter delivering best sound quality. Due to its relatively noiseless working-mechanism, it was very well suited for general sound recording, though not silent enough for studio recording.
