M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

During the 1990s. Janssens developed her installations that utilise lights and fog in parallel to the development and use of similar equipment in rave and club culture, to similar effect. Works such as Représentation d'un corps rond (Representation of a round body), 1996, or Untitled, 2002, use the potent combination of light and fog as a sculptural means, creating the visual sensation of three-dimensional apparitions, as well as spatial situations that are phenomenologically less determinable. In Janssens’ installations, the possibilities of new mental landscapes emerge using the colours and shapes that are formed in the mind.
