M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

The trail ran from the Zuiderpershuis along the M HKA and Cinema Zuid to galleries and private spaces and the KMSKA.

In this exhibition project, contemporary art was shown in interaction with the city: video and light installations in constructions, on windows and on facades in the city. Contemporary art was brought into the city, the public space, in society with the aim of giving the urban environment an artistic wake-up call. Into the light took place in December, a perfect time to enlighten the city, both literally and figuratively speaking: Into the light compensated for the lack of light on the shortest and darkest days of the year.

Error one is a travelling initiative for contemporary visual art and develops projects that are not bound to a specific space. In this nomadic approach, context, location, content and dialogue are inextricably linked.

Artists: Line Boogaerts, Wim Catrysse, Sarah Corynen & Wim Wauman, Simona Denicolai & Ivo Provoost, Mounir Fatmi, Jerry Gall, Gelitin, Katie Lagast, Gabriel Lester, Joris Martens, Bart Prinsen, Lieven Segers, Roman Signer, Malthe Stigaard, Max Sudhues, Lieve Van Stappen, Thomas Verstraeten and Hans Wuyts.

The exhibition was a partnership between the Middelheimmuseum, Zuiderpershuis, the M HKA, Cinema Zuid, the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp, Extra City, NICC, AIR Antwerp, Maes & Matthys Gallery, Ruimte Morguen and Tim Van Laere Gallery.
