On Translation: Warning

Ensemble

On Translation is an ensemble of projects which despite their diversity of data, geographical locations and subject matter, all take as starting point an interest to examine how information is filtered and interpreted through a separate event, site or system as, for example, in the case of a museum or an interview but likewise via the leitmotif of applause or the banking board room. A long-term component project On Translation: Warning, is a collection of architectural interventions and prints with the slogan Warning: perception requires involvement. A catchphrase meant to caution us vis-à-vis the invisible mechanisms that lurk behind media production and consumption, politics, advertising or other incursions into our daily lives, while also calling for our own personal participation and engagement, something the artist himself sees as a main priority.
