'Tijdens een lange wandeling in de omgeving van mijn atelier vond ik een dode, uitgedroogde kraai. Ik liep door, keerde dan na een tijdje terug. Onderweg vond ik een plastic zak. Toen ik terugging naar de kraai sneed ik het hoofd eraf en plaatste het in de zak, en nam het dan mee naar mijn atelier. Ik wil niet opnieuw met dierenschedels beginnen werken, want in Europa is de enige plek voor dergelijke zaken de exotische antropologie. Toch is het ongewoon om een dode kraai te vinden in de stad.'
