The work of Hermann Pitz has been a defining point of reference in the German art scene since its appearance in the early eighties; it encompasses sculpture, quasi-architecture, photography, and installations. Many of his multi-layered works contain echoes of previous artworks, sometimes even of entire exhibitions.
