Lives in Berlin (DE), lives in Paris (FR), born in Saint Mandé (FR).
French artist Bernard Frize has pretty much been painting against the grain for thirty years, periodically finding himself caught at the center of things rather than the margins from which he likes to operate. His colourful, abstract paintings ceaselessly question the very fundamentals of painting: paint, colour, support, surface, gesture.
