M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

Collection: Foundation Walter & Nicole Leblanc, Brussels.

In the early 1960s, Walter Leblanc becomes known by paintings and objects that create virtual motion, in accordance with kinetic art and op art. His early work, such as *Cataract*, still belongs to the dominant lyrical abstraction of the 1950s. It seems miles removed from the later monochrome paintings that portray purely 'visual' content. In that context, the choice for an eye disease as the title further increases the mystery of this change of direction.
