Foucault's mirrors and lenses occupy an emblematic place in El Hotel Eléctrico, at the beginning of the exhibition. The instruments are visible, but the light and the speed that it travels between the mirrors remains intangible. The essence cannot be shown. And it is precisely these invisible intervals that also comprise the exhibition's motto: the dynamic, the 'animation-effect' comes into being only by grace of the viewer who makes the bridge between these intervals. In the traditional film, these are the black images between two frames of film; the museum’s equivalent is the white space between the artworks. The museum thus provides a space that becomes 'animated' by the visitors themselves.
