Maybe the song was on my mind because I had just received the news that I had been awarded a DAAD artist's grant for the following year. I was home alone that evening and, after painting for some hours. I decided that, since I still had a lot of energy, I would make an audio cassette. And so, I set up my simple equipment on the floor by my bedside. I didn’t have any particular plan when I started to sing, but, somehow, as I went along, I began caressing myself. It was interesting how my voice changed according to my feelings. But despite what I was feeling, the discipline was to keep singing those same four lines. The voice itself expressed the stages of sexual arousal. Misschien zat ik aan het lied te denken omdat ik net had vernomen dat ik een kunstenaarsbeurs had gekregen van de DAAD [German Academic Exchange Service] voor het jaar daarop. Ik was die avond alleen thuis en na een paar uurtjes schilderen, besloot ik, omdat ik nog veel energie had, een audiocassette te maken. En dus zette ik mijn eenvoudige apparatuur op de grond naast mijn bed. Ik had geen specifiek plan toen ik begon te zingen, maar op de een of andere manier begon ik mezelf gaandeweg aan te raken. Het was interessant hoe mijn stem veranderde, afhankelijk van wat ik voelde. Maar ondanks wat ik voelde, bestond de discipline eruit om diezelfde vier regels te blijven zingen. De stem zelf drukte de stadia van seksuele opwinding uit. Peut-être avais-je cette chanson en tête parce que je venais d’apprendre que j’avais obtenu une bourse d’artiste du DAAD pour l’année suivante. J’étais seule à la maison ce soir-là et, après avoir peint plusieurs heures durant, j’ai décidé que puisque j’avais encore beaucoup d’énergie, j’allais enregistrer une cassette audio. Et ainsi, j’ai installé mon matériel de base sur le sol, à côté de mon lit. Je n’avais pas de plan particulier lorsque j’ai commencé à chanter, mais pour l’une ou l’autre raison, j’ai commencé à me caresser à mesure que j’avançais. C’était intéressant de voir de quelle manière ma voix changeait en fonction de mes sensations. Cependant, malgré ce que je ressentais, la discipline consistait à continuer à chanter les quatre mêmes lignes. La voix elle-même exprimait les phases de l’excitation sexuelle.
