The photographic series \u003ci\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSelf-Listing\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/i\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e \u003c/strong\u003ewas initially conceived as an in-situ installation for a small hostel in the suburbs of Astana. Placed in the window openings, the photographs provided an insight into the inner life of the building to be demolished. The monumental portraits not only represented the residents in interiors but also featured such information as the names of the residents and their living conditions.\u0026nbsp; Having planned to build a thermal power plant in replacement of the building, the government offered meagre compensation to the evictees. Thanks to the public attention gained by the project, the residents of the hostel were finally offered decent housing in the city. De fotoreeks \u003ci\u003eSelf-Listing\u003c/i\u003e werd oorspronkelijk ontworpen als een in situ installatie voor een klein hostel in de buitenrand van Astana. Doordat de foto’s in de raamopeningen werden geplaatst, geven ze een inkijk in het leven binnen het gebouw dat weldra zou worden gesloopt. De monumentale portretten toonden de huizen vanbinnen, maar ook de namen van de bewoners en hoe ze leefden. De regering wilde op de plaats van het hostel een thermische centrale bouwen en bood de mensen die uit hun huis werden gezet maar een magere vergoeding aan. Dankzij de publieke aandacht voor het project kregen de bewoners van het hostel uiteindelijk toch fatsoenlijke huisvesting in de stad. La série photographique \u003ci\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSelf-Listing\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/i\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e \u003c/strong\u003ea initialement été conçue comme une installation in situ pour une petite auberge de la périphérie d’Astana. Placées au niveau des ouvertures des fenêtres, les photographies donnent un aperçu de la vie intime du bâtiment qui allait être détruit. Les portraits monumentaux ne représentaient pas uniquement des résidents dans des intérieurs, mais exposaient également des informations comme les noms des résidents et leurs conditions de vie. Le gouvernement avait l’intention de construire une centrale thermique à la place du bâtiment et proposait une maigre compensation aux personnes expulsées. Grâce à l’attention du public qui a été captée pour le projet, les résidents de l’auberge ont finalement reçu un logement décent dans la ville.
