The ‘Pathé Baby’ is probably the best-known toy projector and exists in numerous variations, including one with an electric motor. The less usual 9.5mm film format has central film perforations to make maximum use of the width of the film. This affordable format was launched in 1922 by the famous film producers Pathé Frères and was specially aimed at amateurs.
