M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

The Mechanical Beetle , 2018

Installation

The Mechanical Beetle brings out the problem of installativity idea, redefined from the perspective of Moscow Conceptual School. Unlike soviet experience, for which presence in the commune structure was crucial, Ian Ginsburg’s art exists in a wider social spectrum. For artist, there is no difference between material and digital mediums, therefore, ductile aspects of installation in gallery space shine in dualistic expositional field. Project debates post-soviet capitalistic state in a nonbipolar world. The image of a beetle becomes a link between higher art of the past and new spirit of immaterial production of our time.
