M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

Wilhelm Sasnal

° 1972

Lives in Tarnów (PL), born in Tarnów (PL).

Wilhelm Sasnal uses a wide variety of media to picture his country and its surroundings. He paints, takes photographs, makes videos and installations and is active as cartoonist and video and film director. His oeuvre is very extensive and varied. Sasnal's inspirations are very diverse. He starts from daily reality in its widest possible variety: his environment and the images that 'come to him' are central. His image material consists of photographs of himself and his friends, film stills, newspaper clippings, children's books and television images. He manipulates the images he selects, until a new image emerges. In his work, you always feel the tension between apparent reference to reality and strong subjective vision. The reality Sasnal shows is often bitter. It's often in that lucidity that the strength of his work lies.
