Through his practice as an artist, Damian Le Bas proclaimed the ‘Roma Revolution’ in art. He has fought for Traveller’s rights, Roma representation in art biennales, and applied through his wife’s Delaine’s artwork and performance for the establishment of a Romani Embassy. He also participated in the renowned Paradise Lost exhibition, the first Roma Pavilion organised at the Venice Biennale in 2007, and together with Delaine Le Bas, he initiated the Roma Biennale shortly before his untimely death. In his drawings, paintings, and objects Le Bas worked extensively with maps and the study of cartography.
